Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ!
In his great mercy he has given us new birth into a living hope
through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead,
and into an inheritance that can never perish, spoil or fade
— kept in heaven for you,
who through faith are shielded by God’s power
until the coming of the salvation
that is ready to be revealed in the last time.In this you greatly rejoice,

Who has believed our message
and to whom has the arm of the LORD been revealed?He grew up before him like a tender shoot,

He had no beauty or majesty to attract us to him,
nothing in his appearance that we should desire him.He was despised and rejected by men,
a man of sorrows, and familiar with suffering.
Like one from whom men hide their faces

New Year’s Resolutions
Oh, the depth of the riches of the wisdom and knowledge of God!
How unsearchable his judgments,
and his paths beyond tracing out!
Who has known the mind of the Lord?
Or who has been his counselor?
Who has ever given to God,
that God should repay him?
For from him
and through him
and to him are all things.
To him be the glory forever!
Amen.
